Temple Bar

Dublin's lively cultural and nightlife quarter

Temple Bar is Dublin's self-styled "cultural quarter" on the south bank of the River Liffey, known for its preserved medieval street pattern of narrow cobbled lanes. By day it's home to galleries, bookshops and street art; by night it becomes one of Dublin's liveliest nightlife districts, with traditional live music spilling out of its pubs. The name derives from Sir William Temple, who lived in the area in the 17th century.
