The Dingle Peninsula in northwest County Kerry is known for its rugged Atlantic coastline, prehistoric stone structures such as the beehive huts (clocháns), and the view out to the Blasket Islands from Slea Head. The main town, Dingle (An Daingean), sits within an Irish-speaking Gaeltacht region and is the starting point for the popular Slea Head Drive. The peninsula has long been regarded as one of Ireland's most scenic driving routes.
